Let’s think for a minute.

Hi.

So I am straight.. but I have some good friends who are either gay/lesbian/bisexual. I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but to those so opposed to gay marriage and gay rights, why does it affect you in any way?

Girls, if you don’t like the idea of gay marriage- MARRY A GUY.

Guys, if you don’t like the idea of gay marriage- MARRY A GIRL.

Simple enough?

Apparently not. A friend of mine just set her Facebook status to: “Marriage is about love, not gender” and some girl (we’ll call her Jane) had to comment saying “not true, just saying.” Seeing this made me lose a lot of respect for Jane because who is a fifteen-year-old high school student to say what marriage is all about? Alrighty, Jane, then you tell me, what is marriage all about?

And how terrible that others should be denied their rights because, God forbid, they don’t think like you. Not that this blog post is going to do anything to help- but it should, at the very least, open your eyes and make you at least a little angry. Really consider some of your friends, family, and peers who are in the LGBT community before you run your mouth, and maybe think about the fact that life has more meaning than perfect, straight-minded girls marrying perfect, straight-minded boys to produce perfect, straight-minded children.

So cliche, but everyone is different. Otherwise, life would really suck.
